Description
Major damage was sustained by the sea defence wall during the storms in December 2006.
The project involved the excavation of material behind the primary defence wall to locate large voids.
Over 1,000m3 of material was excavated and recycled as fill material inside a geotextile membrane.
Reinforced concrete works to repair a large breach in the primary wall and to raise its level, prior to casting a reinforced concrete wave return beam.
Over 200m2 of limestone stone facing was laid to match the existing wall, using Cintec anchors to increase the lifespan of the facing work.
