Dyer & Butler Celebrates Zero AFR


Dyer and Butler has reached a second major Health & Safety milestone in three months. After achieving the target of over one million man hours without a reportable accident, as of 31st January 2009, Dyer & Butler has now achieved a company wide zero Accident Frequency Rate.  Jon Whitehouse, Dyer & Butler's Operations Director responsible for Safety Health Environment & Quality, said "The Company can be justifiably proud of this achievement, everybody has contributed over the past five years in order for us to reach this goal, and it is yet another good example of the very focused approach to a strong safety culture within Dyer & Butler. I have great pleasure in passing on the congratulations of the Board of Dyer & Butler to all". Dyer & Butler are now working towards the achievement of becoming accident & incident free.

Dyer & Butler's safety performance has been recognised on a number of occasions over the past twelve months. In May 2008 it won three of the prestigious GOLD awards at the RoSPA Occupational Health & Safety Awards, sponsored by NEBOSH (The National Examining Board in Occupational Safety and Health). David Rawlins, RoSPA Awards Manager said "Dyer & Butler has shown a commitment to protecting the health and well-being of it’s employees and others. We hope other businesses and organisations will follow its lead and strive for continuous improvement and safety management."

In July 2008 Dyer & Butler was Highly Commended in the NCE/CECA 2008 Contractors of the Year Awards in the medium firm category and the New Civil Engineers Contractors File states that a contributory factor to the award was "Dyer & Butler has achieved over 23% growth whilst maintaining overall safety performance across the company" and "Dyer & Butler can deliver a range of complex civil engineering projects 24 hours a day extremely safely across a large geographical area in hazardous environments".
