Description
The Project comprised reinstatement of a leat to an existing historic Mill building which was under renovation in order to re-create the original appearance of the environment. Extensive regrading and bank protection work was carried out to divert existing river flows, create an overflow for flood conditions and protect the mill structure.
Sheet piles were installed close to the existing channel constructed to protect and blend in with the property.
The meandering channel was constructed with gravel riffles. Marginal mattresses were installed to define the new bank line and stabilised by planting.
All works were carried out in close cooperation with the mill owners.
