Dyer & Butler Heads into Europe

Dyer & Butler is celebrating after winning a three year contract with Eurotunnel.

The deal worth over £1 million, which began this month, includes maintenance to all the terminal buildings and terminal infrastructure for Eurotunnel UK on both its Folkestone terminal and Samphire Hoe sites.

Eurotunnel, which can take passengers to France in just 35 minutes has also tasked  Dyer & Butler with an emergency call out service 24 hours a day, seven days a week and sees the Nursling based company work outside of the UK for the first time.

“The Eurotunnel contract is an important win for us and we are excited to take the Dyer & Butler brand across the Channel for the first time.  This an important move forward in our drive to secure more work in the Kent and South East area,” said Neil Edwards, commercial director at Dyer & Butler.

Contracts manager Shaun Elsdon, who will be one of 12 staff working full time on the contract said: “The work will take place at any time of day or night depending on if it’s an emergency, its location and access.  If, for example we are working on or near the train line, a possession is taken for the track, so the section of track will be closed to trains.”

In addition to the civil engineering and maintenance work, Dyer & Butler has also been tasked with small and medium size project work on all the Eurotunnel sites including the French terminal in Calais.

“We hope this contract is the start of a great relationship with Eurotunnel and with every job we are tasked with, the Dyer & Butler team can excel,” concluded Shaun. Back to previous page
