Storms Fail to Stop Us

Despite the atrocious weather last weekend, Dyer & Butler is delighted to report that the weekend was a huge success for our Rail team working on the Ashley Road Bridge Replacement Project.

Our team demolished the old bridge and installed the main components of the new bridge within a 51 hour period, despite the howling gales and the need to work around existing services such as a large gas main, high voltage electric cables and BT fibre optic cables. A further complication to this project is the close proximity of two existing foot bridges that remained in place throughout the works.

A spokesman from Network Rail said "It is a credit to our team on-site that the work was still carried out in the weather conditions we had this weekend". "It could not have been much worse and was the sort of thing that could have delayed a project like this, but the overall programme is on track"

Dyer & Butler Regional Manager, Tim Stedman said "This weekend was the only Possession available to us within a 12 month period. It was therefore imperative that the project went ahead. I am delighted with the efforts made, and the manner in which the project was managed, over the weekend - the whole team is a credit to Dyer & Butler".
