Students Win Awards
Dyer & Butler are delighted to announce that both George Scutt & Ashley Gurr have both won awards from the Central Sussex College Annual Construction Faculty Awards 2009.
George Scutt, Maintenance Operative, has won an award for the 2nd year running, this year George was awarded the McAplpine Award for NVQ
Level 3 Occupational Work Supervision. Last year George won the Construction Awards 2008 award for Outstanding Performance. George has worked for Dyer & Butler at Heathrow Airport for 6 years, mainly as part of our 'Civils Reactive Maintenance Team', George is available on call to BAA 24 hours per day, 365 days per year to keep the airport running.
Ashley Gurr, General Operative, has worked with Dyer & Butler for 6
years at Heathrow Airport, Gatwick Airport and Legoland. Ashley won the award for the most promising student on the OSAT scheme. Paul Bailey, Assessor said "Ashley was an excellent candidate who always gave 100% to whatever task, be it on-site or job knowledge. If Ashley continues with the enthusiasm he has shown so far he is destined for a great career in the construction world".
Geoff Fox, Dyer & Butler Health & Safety Officer said "The fact that we have had two candidates receive awards this year with George winning two years running consolidates not only the company's commitment to a trained and competent workforce but also the commitment of our operatives to gain further qualification to a very high standard".
