YEOVIL Junction Sidings

This Project was to assist South Western Railway to meet the requirements for a traincrew depot and berthing point at Yeovil Junction.

The Works included the provision of walkways and lighting to enable train berthing in new sidings, Down Sidings No’s 1 and 2 at Yeovil Junction. The yellow walking routes with lighting and hop-up locations was installed using our in house Civil and Electrical teams.

Works included installation of service provider and tenant’s feeder pillars and all associated switchgear and metering.

The services installation was installed in accordance with the (relevant) Railway Group and Network Rail Standards, British Standards and Codes of Practice, as relevant to the scope of the proposed works.

The works under this project comprises of the following:

  • New DNO supply
  • Main Switchgear
  • New Feeder Pillars
  • Main 230V/400V Distribution
  • Sidings Lighting
  • Shore supply provision (shore supply equipment based on SWR requirements to be obtained directly by Contractor)
  • Barrow Crossing lamp head/column replacement
  • Cleaner Hut and electrical services
  • Low voltage distribution, including containment (surface and buried underground ducts)
  • Small Power installation
  • Final circuit wiring
  • Earthing and Bonding
  • Installation, testing, commissioning, and handover
  • Builders work in connection with the works
  • Underground ducts, turning chambers, UTX provision, etc in accordance with Civils’ specification and drawings
  • All fixings and foundation provisions associated with electrical services and equipment in accordance with manufacturers’ recommendations and where applicable, as shown on Civils’ drawings and specification
  • Civils works in accordance with Civils’ specification and drawings.
