Major Infrastructure scheme consisting of extensive earthworks, groundworks, foundations, floor slabs, drainage, pavement quality concrete hardstandings, car parks, access roads and S278 works associated with the construction of new Junior Ranks Single Living.

Accommodation (JRSLA) blocks, welfare and sports facilities and garaging, workshops and stores for tank and armoured car maintenance.

Works have included:

  • 150,000m³ cut and fill earthworks package, filling a void to allow the construction of two tank storage facilities and workshops
  • Installation of 20,000m² of Pavement Quality Concrete (PQC) hardstanding areas for the storage of equipment and materials
  • Fibre reinforced concrete (FRC) and groundworks for a new mess facility comprising of pad, beam and raft foundations including drainage, slabs and associated utility works
  • Tegula block paving access into mess facilities and living accommodation
  • Car parks, comprising 7000m² over 6 car parks
  • 700m² of Marshall slab access paths and patio areas
  • CFA piles and reinforced concrete beams for a new office block including associated FRC works for ground and first floor slabs including associated drainage and utility works
  • Raft foundation of approximately 3000m² to allow construction of prefabricated modular accommodation and associated brickwork
  • 5000m² of access roads
  • 2000m²/1000m of footpaths with associated sub-base and surfacing
  • 1500m of drainage from 100mm to 225mm of depths from 1m to 2m below ground level
  • Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) comprising of soakaways, swales, infiltration basins and associated oil interceptors
  • Assistance on site with client environmental improvement schemes such as newt ponds, hibernacula’s, tree planting and reptile improvement and protection areas
  • Construction of two sports pitches, one artificial and one grass sports pitch with associated groundworks and drainage
  • Hard and soft landscaping works

During the initial production of the SWMP, we identified the need to remove over 20,000m³ of classified hazardous arisings from site, working closely with our waste subcontractor, SITA, and the Environmental Health Departments of Wiltshire and Hampshire, we were able to re-classify the material as inert and transport to a local tip as capping material.
