Back to all

Dyer & Butler, KH Engineering Services and Antagrade Electrical recently took part in The Big Rail Diversity Challenge (BRDC) in Newark, Nottinghamshire to show our support for Women in Rail and our commitment to gender diversity in the workplace.

Taking part were:

  • Rosie Wilkinson, Resourcing Advisor at Dyer & Butler
  • Charlotte Orsmond, Assistant Quantity Surveyor at Dyer & Butler
  • Charlotte Robinson, Lead Planner at Dyer & Butler
  • Hiro Ng, Quantity Surveyor at Dyer & Butler
  • Chris Darlow, Rail Director at Dyer & Butler
  • Tom Smith, Strategic Development Director in the Transport Division
  • Mohamed Kamara, Graduate Engineer at Dyer & Butler
  • Liz Collins, Associate HR Business Partner at KH Engineering Services
  • Emily Francis, Compliance Coordinator at KH Engineering Services
  • Elise Walter, Apprentice Electrician at KH Engineering Services
  • Shaun Kearney, Managing Director at Antagrade Electrical also attended on the day to support the team

Arranged by Women in Rail and Nimble Media Ltd, the event involved various fun activities such as music and geography quizzes, card games, inflated bubble replay races, race cart designing and singing sessions. There were also some more serious educational exercises such as working as a team to move role-play casualties to safety, promoting team building across the group.

Team member Rosie Wilkinson said: “I had a fabulous time at the Big Rail Diversity Challenge. I’d describe it as a sports day for adults, but with activities that were 10 times better. Thanks to Women in Rail and Nimble Media Ltd for arranging such a brilliant day, with such an important message about diversity and its strength in teamwork. I really enjoyed working with people from all over the business. Although we don’t all work closely together, we do work as for a larger team as a part of M Group Services Transport Division.”

We are proud to announce our Rail & Aviation team came 12th out of 48 teams. Well done to everyone who took part.
