DYER & BUTLER ENGAGES WITH LOCAL SCHOOLS TO PROMOTE HEALTH AND SAFETY

Dyer & Butler, a multi-disciplined engineering services specialist focused on transport infrastructure including airports, railways and highways, and part of M Group Services, is currently engaging with several primary schools in the Cotswolds to provide education on Health and Safety.

The community engagement programme is taking place in support of anongoing programme of platform extensions and associated works being delivered on behalf of Network Rail IP Wales & Westernat stations throughout the North Cotswolds line which runs between Oxford and Hereford.

The project is planned for completion in December 2018 and will provide increased pedestrian capacity for the platforms at seven stations along the route; Hanborough; Charlbury; Kingham; Moreton-in-Marsh; Honeybourne; Evesham; and Pershore.

The programme of works will include additional upgrade and refurbishment activity including resurfacing, drainage renewals, realignment of copers, lighting, platform gauging, stop boards, shelters and SISS equipment upgrades.

The school safety initiative will see Dyer & Butler collaborating with 12 primary schools located in areas where the works are taking place.

During each school visit, Dyer & Butler representatives are delivering safety assemblies to the children to raise awareness of the work taking place, to raise understanding of some of the safety hazards that will exist during the works and to look at some of the specialist equipment used on site to keep people safe.

Further sessions are planned to assist with the pupils’ ‘Transport Studies’ within this term’s curriculum.
