4th December 2018

Back to all

Dyer & Butler are pleased to announce the completion of a critical phase of the IEP North Cotswolds platform extension programme following the successful delivery of a 9-day blockade to construct platform extensions to accommodate the new 10 car class 800 locomotives which increase the routes capacity in line with passenger growth projections.

The 9-day blockade commenced on Saturday 17thNovember across four stations, Pershore, Evesham, Honeybourne and Moreton-in-Marsh.

Works undertaken during the blockade consisted of modular platform extensions, coping stone replacement, drainage works, erection of king post retaining walls, track tamping, platform resurfacing and lining and fencing and lamp column installation.

Through the hard work and determination of the entire team the works were successfully completed with zero accident ensuring that everyone got home safe every day. This was supported by a strong close call reporting which assisted to achieve a high-quality end product and allowed the blockade to be handed back ahead of schedule.

Dyer & Butler would like to thank all stakeholders involved either during the lead up to, or during blockade works and we look forwards to the successful conclusion of the project at the end of the year.
